The program known as HAMP, in which the Obama administration implemented in an effort to slow foreclosures, by making payments more affordable, is under heavy attack by both Republicans and Democrats. The main reason for this attack is because of the lack of foreclosures the program has actually helped prevent. By the end of December there were 522,000 home owners enrolled in HAMP, however the goal is 4 million. There is a high drop out rate from the program, which is making it very hard to reach the 4 million mark.
